The legend of the Chrysanthemum stone is that in ancient times, there was a pair of immortals in heaven who fell in love with each other. In an act of love, they sprinkled chrysanthemum which fell to earth landing in the Liuyang river.  Over time, turned into today's chrysanthemum stone. 

Chrysanthemum stones formed over 290 million years ago. They are quite rare and as such, are classed as gems.  This piece has a double flower.
